New party games out for 2010

Just a heads up as to new party games out for the holidays:

Word on the Street - a team game where you capture alphabet letters

Scattergories Categories - a new twist on the old favorite

Thanks a Lot - a gift exchange game

5 Second Rule - name three things in 5 seconds

Bubble Talk - caption game similar to Apples

Sounds Like a Plan - pick a plan. The die roll determines if you pick the best or worst advice, Grandma's or a kid's advice, etc.

Trivial Pursuit - Bet You Know It - you bet on your opponents as to whether they'll answer correctly.

Single race party (D&D 4E)

I'm trying to design a party for an upcoming campaign, and I think a family would be very fun. The challenge is to pick a race that will allow a lot of different PC options but still have some cohesion.

Elves and Half-elves are an obvious choice already. Humans are easy but too simple. We were also thinking about Gnomes (and some Revenants).

What do you suggest, for maximum fun and versatility?

Best game?

What was the best RPG (session, system, module) that you've played in the last six months, and why was it awesome?
