Gamer jargon

campaign

A series of stories taking place in a game world, with both short plot arcs and long term continuity.

Chuzzle

One of the many colored fuzzballs (with little googly eyes) in the PopCap game Chuzzle, that is to be matched up so it can explode and clear the grid.

Cthulhu

A fearsome elder god included in stories by H. P. Lovecraft and often featured in horror genre games.

D&D

Dungeons and Dragons, a fantasy role playing game system published by Wizards of the Coast and drawing heavily from Tolkien for inspiration.

A brief role playing game adventure designed to be played in one hour or less.

An indie published role playing game system with a heavy focus on player narrative and constant character development.

FantasyCraft

A versatile fantasy RPG that encourages genre flexibility and high character capability, utilizing scalable NPCs and new twists on arcane and divine magic.

GM

Game Master, the person who runs a session of a role playing game. The GM acts as narrator, describes the scene and plays bit parts as well as nemeses.

LFR

A 4th edition D&D Living campaign run by Wizards of the Coast through the RPGA. Players create characters and play them in a variety of adventures set in the Forgotten Realms to advance their characters and influence the story.

living

A form of organized play campaign in which players can make characters using a standard set of rules and play them in games of that type to advance and develop them.
