In the plague-infested Outlands of 1986, American teams of professional racers known as Dragsters compete for fuel, ratings, and a body count. In the small town of Gomorrah Kansas there awaits a prize for the first Dragster foolish enough to enter a contaminated Plague zone.

the creme de la creme of the chess world in a show with everything but
Yul Brynner. The U.S. and the U.S.S.R. are convinced that a certain
ABBA 8-track tape and/or winning this chess tournament and/or the
Reclining Buddha are key to winning the Cold War. Perhaps they are
right. Perhaps they are not.
